The second component of the DOSE that I want to talk about is Oxytocin. Oxytocin is a powerful hormone that acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain. It influences social interaction and sexual reproduction, playing a role in mental/emotional effects involved in parenting, social bonding, empathy, affection, and modulating the emotional ebb and flow of long-term relationships When people hug or kiss a loved one, Oxytocin levels increase; hence, Oxytocin is often called “the love hormone.” It is produced in the brain’s hypothalamus.
What is Oxytocin Used for?
Far past the bonding and the relationship effects we see from the hormone, studies are showing that the Oxytocin can affect the body composition, weight, and appetite, the status of other hormones, bone health, skin health and other aspects of human physiology. One of the recent studies that really got my attention is the use of Oxytocin for weight loss. In Chinese study, individuals that were given Oxytocin over 8 weeks with no change to diet lost on average 19.8 pounds, with a decrease interest in carbohydrate snacking in particular. Upon the increase in Oxytocin, the individuals saw a reduction of appetite from 4-6 hours.
What This Means
So, what this means to me, everytime, I take that yellow capsule that the scientist has developed that is primarily composed of Turmeric and Xanthohumol, and it somehow causes my body to release Oxytocin, I will most like not be hungry for several hours. Well, I can tell you ten months in, this study has been proven true day after day. Almost like clockwork, for me approximately five hours later I feel myself get hungry. I am also seeing so many more health benefits from that single yellow capsule that I take daily. I feel healthier, happier, and younger than I have in years. This alone is reason enough to not miss a day drinking the cup of coffee and taking the supplement.
