The first quarter has ended, and I am reflecting back on the last 90 days. I am so excited to share that I crushed my goals for the first quarter. In today’s post, I am going to share with you some important tips about smashing those goals with a business opportunity.
2020 was a challenging year for me, like so many others. I chalk it up to a year of personal growth and self-awareness. I am not discounting that as a win by no means, honestly, if I had not done the work I did last year on myself, I don’t know that I would even be able to share the insights for the first quarter.
I changed products that I was promoting December 16, 2020, so I am just over 90 days with the new company. I didn’t bring a whole network of affiliates with me. I started with no one but myself. As of today, my team and I are sitting at just under 100k in sales. Crazy to think how things can look so differently in 90 days. I ended the first quarter, over 100k in sales.
What Makes This Opportunity Different?
I think one of the most important components in success is aligning yourself with the right product or opportunity; the product is in demand; the comp plan is lucrative; and you have clarity on your daily mode of operation.
Only the second product that I have ever really promoted, this compensation model is different than any I have ever seen. Coming from the insurance industry and recruiting, the only way you could make an override was by personally recruiting the agents . I was always taught that profits came from width, and stability came from depth. This model is all about driving depth in your business. You only have 3 lines of lineage that you build the business around. As affiliates come on board, you then place them in the organization somewhere in those 3 lines.
Everyone is driving depth, and this concept drives a compounding effect quickly. It will light a fire under affiliates to work for the fear of missing out on commissions. The fear of missing out is real, and it can be a great motivator in sales.
That has been one huge factor in the success in this first quarter… the type of structure and comp plan that I am utilizing. Choosing the right products is just part of the formula to success. You have to have a comp plan that is going to properly reward your efforts.
Mindset and Goals
With the new mindset and fire to succeed, I started the year out setting SMART goals for the quarter, and I broke them down into monthly goals. When I set those goals in January, they seemed impossible. I just held faith that I was going to accomplish them, and I went to work.
Every day, I have shown up in my business doing the same needle moving activities. I really got clarity on what it was I was trying to accomplish and the method I was going to use to accomplish them, and I got busy. One of the biggest takeaways from Jacob Caris’s Super Affiliate Accelerator program was understanding the power of doing those daily activities and how fast they will build momentum for you and your business. Momentum can be hard to get and yet so easy to lose. I definitely have momentum on my side.
The mindset plays such a huge role in your success. It is often debated whether strategy or mindset are more important. For me, it is always mindset. I have known the strategies, but I was not in the right mindset to implement and get the results. It takes daily work on my mindset to quieten the noise from the outside world, see the abundance and opportunities available, and really focus on what I want.
Tools for Building Success with a Business Opportunity
I use journaling to deal with any negative emotions around success, and get to the core of their existence. Self awareness is so important. Once you are self aware, you have the control to surrender to the beliefs or change them. I practice daily gratitude, and I use positive affirmations. The beautiful thing about the unconscious mind is that it doesn’t know reality from fiction. Using positive affirmations with emotions tied to them, really helps accelerate the growth you are looking for.
I practice detachment daily. I really have embraced detaching from the outcome of the sales process. Once you fully understand abundance, it becomes easier to detach from the results. Really start to focus on abundance.
I read a quote at the beginning of the year that I took to heart. It said, “Trust in God and Do Something.” I realized that my worth came from Christ and what He did for me on the Cross, that my worth wasn’t validated by my bank account, another person, my career, or success in anything. Just being me was worthy enough for Christ to die on the cross for me. The minute I realized that type of worth, I realized, I could go after anything I wanted because my worth was not tied to success or failure.
Inconsistency is driven from lack of clarity. Gain clarity on your goals and the activities need to achieve those goals, the focus and consistency will show up in your business. You have to have clarity on what needle moving activities you are going to focus on daily. I utilize a planner that sets 5 game day list activities that will help move the needle in the business. When I start the day, the list is created, and there is no lack of clarity of what the day holds. It makes it so much easier to show up consistently in the business. Power of the Slight Edge
Never underestimate what the slight edge can do for you business, and the power of compounding. I am a prime example of using the slight edge daily and reaping the rewards. Practice grace and patience with yourself and with your business daily. We live in such an instant gratification society, we tend to want things now. Everything doesn’t come overnight. Building a successful, stable business takes time. Every day you will not do things perfectly, extend yourself some grace. Start fresh the next day. Discover how to hold the focus and trust that the process will work, when you work. Go build the life of freedom that you desire and live a gutsy life. Live life using your God-given talents fully. Live unapologetically for going after your dreams. Define what success means to you in this current season of life. Go get it!
